FAQ

What is a good OEE score?
World-class discrete manufacturing is often cited around 85%. Many plants run 60–75%. Compare to your own baseline and industry, not a single universal number.
How is availability different from uptime?
Availability = run time ÷ planned production time. It excludes scheduled breaks if they are not in planned time, and includes unplanned stops. Confirm how your plant defines planned time.
What does performance capture?
Performance is actual throughput versus ideal cycle time — small stops and reduced speed. If the line crawls but never faults, OEE can still be poor through performance, not availability.
Should rework count against quality?
OEE quality is typically first-pass good parts ÷ total parts started. Rework that later becomes good still hurt first-pass yield — include it unless your site standard says otherwise.
